Media Communications & Relations Strategies and Framework

  • Implement and assess media engagement programmes to safeguard Company’ reputation
  • Develop and recommend solutions in Media Management policies and procedures to ensure consistent understanding and practice of good governance to maintain integrity and credibility

Media Communications

  • Analyze relevant industry-related issues and trends reported by the media and produce a trend report measuring Company’s reputation
  • Compose and/or analyze content and verify facts and messages of media releases to ensure accuracy for publication

Media Crisis Communications Management

  • Execute and monitor communications strategies and plans
  • during crisis situations to ensure effective communication with the media and other key stakeholders

Media Relations

  • Build and maintain effective working relationship with members of the media and media decision makers

Media Profile and Information Database

  • Maintain and update a comprehensive Regional media database


  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Corporate Communications/Broadcasting/Public Relations or related discipline from a recognized university. A professional qualification or advanced degree would be an advantage
  • Minimum 7 years of working experience in related discipline/industry
  • Experience in media development and stakeholder development
  • Well-informed of current trends on oil and gas industry
  • Able to anticipate potential issues that may affect PETRONAS reputation
  • Understand the organization’s entire operations philosophy and leveraging on relevant support through various syndications at all levels which the incumbent has to be independent and able to convince others on the brand strategies and how it will assist in attaining business objectives
  • Local Sabahan is an added advantage
