Our Regional Finance Team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant, SSC Delivery Lead (APAC) to scale and champion our month-end closing process within APAC. Senior Accountant will report to the Head of Business Controllership and based in Malaysia.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of up to 6 accountants overseeing APAC countries
  • Able to manage full set of accounts and take responsibility for month end closing to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Includes complex retail inventory accounting, including 1000+ SKUs covering multiple locations
  • Partner with regional Business Controlling Team to standardise accounting processes to enhance reporting efficiency such as implementing new accounting processes and reporting guidelines
  • Review and finalise closing and reconciliation for financial and management reporting to ensure the service delivery work done is accurate
  • Develop a strong understanding of finance processes including but not limited to month end closing. Proactively involved in process improvement
  • Assist in the implementation of any system improvement projects
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders across the organisation to understand the business and use this knowledge in daily finance operations
  • Partner controlling team to support year-end audit and liaise with external advisors when necessary
  • Ensure compliance to group accounting policies, audit, tax and other statutory requirements
  • Manage various financial topics and provide ad-hoc support to the finance or new business teams

    • Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 to 8 years of experience in finance/accounting preferably from audit firm/inhouse role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant field.
  • Practical knowledge of IFRS, ACCA/CPA/ACA qualifications are preferred.
  • Experience in managing teams of 6 or above.
  • Highly proficient in advanced Excel (e.g. Pivot Tables, vLookups etc.) & SAP system.
  • Proficient in business English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong analytical abilities.
  • Background in fast-paced, entrepreneurial, startup/technology environments is a plus.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, detail-oriented and employs a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Positive working attitude, demonstrate good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
