Job content


• Working in a team environment, assist clients in their efforts to identify, measure and appropriately manage the business and reporting risks they face as they respond to changing stakeholder expectations and environmental and GHG disclosure requirements

• Lead planning, management and execution of consulting mandates related to GHG assessments, carbon offset project development, renewable energy and carbon market policy

• Originate, structure and close new deals in carbon credits and renewable energy (RECs) markets with project owners, retailers, trading and wholesale companies

• Grow the network of project developers and suppliers of carbon credits and RECs

• Create a strategic carbon project and REC portfolio for meeting the demand of our in-house, corporate and public sector clients and manage international certificate trading registries

• Develop business for the sale or trading of carbon credits and RECs

• Engage with and build relationships with key clients and partners

• Collaborate and assist in business development

• Maintain cooperative relationships with other engagement teams

• Engagement areas can include: GHG assessment & disclosure, global reporting standards (e.g., GHG protocol, CDP etc.), climate change mitigation and adaptation, decarbonization, Science Based Targets (SBTs), energy efficiency, Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), renewable energy strategy, and others.


• Hands-on experience in GHG management, carbon strategy development, carbon project development, climate change scenario analysis, stakeholder engagement, etc.

• Ability to analyze complex issues in the context of client engagements and deliver effective and practical solutions

• Ability to undertake environmental assessments (e.g., GHG accounting, LCA etc.)

• Good knowledge on international GHG measurement and verification standards and protocols, global carbon market standards, REC standards etc.

• Advanced written and verbal communication skills, in English

• Strong project management skills

• Strong analytical skills with respect to analysis of GHG and energy related data to draw conclusions and propose practical recommendations

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in climate change or carbon markets (e.g., climate change consultant, GHG assessor, or corporate responsibility consultant)

• A degree in engineering, energy, environmental science and/or another appropriate academic major is desirable, preferably at the post-graduate level

• Experience in forestry carbon projects is an added advantage
